Jessica Simpson is expecting her third child (and she’s had a rough time of it, tbh). As she nears her due date (which is unconfirmed but expected to be sometime this spring), she’s already planning her post-baby diet goals.
But a recent Instagram post about those diet goals left her fans feeling…a little irked. (Cue the angry comments.)
Jessica, 38, posted a tribute to designer Karl Lagerfeld to mark his passing. In the photo, Jessica is standing with tons of influential people–Nicole Kidman, Anna Wintour, Michael Kors, and Karl himself.
“I don’t even recall him knowing my name, but man did I know his,” she wrote. “We have lost a true genius in the fashion world. His designs with remain with us forever.”
Pretty respectful, right? But Jessica ended her post with: “PS. After baby diet goals 🙏🏼,” referring to herself and how she looked when the photo was taken.

Turns out, fans weren’t too happy with Jessica’s mention of her weight in the post dedicated to Karl. “Why bring your weight into this?” wrote one commenter, while others called it “tacky,” “awkward,” or just “not the time” for that type of comment.
Still, Jessica had her share of fans who came to her defense. “Everyone needs to relax over the baby weight quip,” wrote one.
Many others repeated that sentiment, also saying that she can “say whatever she wants” on her own Instagram page—or that she looks beautiful at any weight (totally agree).
